about
In 2008, inspired by my own cancer journey, I founded the F Cancer Embrace Life initiative to raise funds and awareness for cancer causes. To date, I have raised over $300,000 for patient services like Inspire Health and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
I believe big battles need big words; living with cancer demands courage, self-awareness, and that secret source of power - a sense of humor. I want to encourage people with cancer to embrace the fullness of life - from the time of diagnosis to recovery and beyond. I aim to foster a community of people sharing their stories and support in their embrace of life, no matter the circumstances.
Earlier in my career, I founded Soul Flower, which grew into one of Canada’s leading sterling silver jewelry design houses. After selling the company in 2010, I pursued a lifelong dream of traveling the world by sailboat, focusing on social ventures along the way.
My passion for creating meaningful work has led to collaborations with organizations like the Royal Bank of Canada and the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, designing jewelry for charity campaigns. As Spokesperson and Organizing Committee Member for the inaugural Vancouver Leukemia Cup Regatta, I exceeded both my personal and the event’s fundraising goals.
With over 40,000 nautical miles sailed across 17 countries, I joined the Canadian Coast Guard in 2020 to deepen my maritime experience. I had the privilege of voyaging through the Northwest Passage aboard the Icebreaker CCGS Sir Wilfrid Laurier, known for its role in discovering the lost Franklin Expedition.
When I’m not at sea, I focus on conservation efforts and other passion projects, always seeking new ways to contribute and explore.
