about
My passion is creating for worthy causes while exploring around the globe on both land and sea.
In 2020, despite pandemic restrictions, I joined the Canadian Coast Guard, based in Victoria, B.C. and sailed from British Columbia to Alaska, through the Northwest Passage aboard the Icebreaker CCGS “Sir Wilfrid Laurier” known for discovering the lost Franklin Expedition in 2014.
Previously, I founded Soul Flower, which grew to become one of Canada's leading design houses of sterling silver jewellery. The company created jewellery for a variety of clients such as musicians Sarah Mclachlan, the Rolling Stones, and Queens of the Stone Age; and fashion brands like Quiksilver's Roxy division.
After selling Soul Flower in 2010, I fulfilled a life-long dream: travelling the world by sailboat while focusing entirely on social ventures. Since then, I have sailed >40,000 nautical miles to 17 countries and participated in international yachting events including the Baja Ha-Ha Cruiser’s Rally and the St. Bart’s Bucket Regatta.
In 2008, inspired by my own cancer journey, I founded the F Cancer Embrace Life initiative to raise funds and awareness for cancer causes. To date, more than $300,000 has been raised for patient services such as Inspire Health and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
